Definitely the best Aurora Borealis show I have ever seen, took place 17.3.2015. Unfortunately I wasn’t prepared good enough for this kind of an event, so I just practically took the camera and ran outdoors after an aurora alarm in my e-mail ( even missed that by 15 minutes). At first I drove a few kilometres to a place i know well, and which is dark and there is less light pollution. (what comes to the standards of Southern Finland). I saw some Auroras, but those didn’t have colours so much, maybe because there was so much small dirt particles in the air. After an hour and a half I started to feel chilly and headed back home a bit disappointed to be totally honest. In the home yard I thought I try to make some shots of still visible Northern lights. And then the colours and patterns really came alive! Happy with the shots I got, but envy for the people who were somewhere in a place where the light pollution wouldn’t have bothered that much…
