Pikkutikka, Lesser Spotted woodpecker

It was beautiful morning today, so I went to see if there were any birds around. Walked 5 minutes to the river, and stood 5 minutes when I noticed the sounds of woodpecker/s. They were in the thickets and all I saw, was that there were 2 birds, and the smaller was harassing the larger one. The larger appeared to be White-backed Woodpecker, who really didnt give a sh!t about the smaller one, but just made short sprints from tree to tree. The smaller finally came visible and even thought he managed to chase White-backed away. Then he flew the tree next to me and gave a few poses before heading his way, too.

Kiva aamu tänään joten kipaisin joelle lintuja katsomaan. Olin seisoksinut ehkä viitisen minuuttia kun huomasin tikkojen ääniä jostain pusikoista. Muuta ei näkynyt kuin että siellä pari lintua lentää ja että pienempi hätistää isompaa. Isompi paljastui valkoselkätikaksi, joka ei juurikaan ahdistajasta välittänyt, hypähteli vain puusta toiseen. Tämä pienempi tuli vihdoin näkösälle ja paljastui pikkutikaksi. Lopulta valkoselkä jatkoi matkaansa ja pikkuinen luuli sen hätistäneensä, joten se tuli ihan poseeraamaan lähipuuhun.
