Long time no content over here on my blog. No specific reason for that, but probably because of long and wet dark winter here in Southern Finland. For the first time in my life there was absolutely no snow in Helsinki area during the winter. Some very occasional days probably were white, but all-in-all just rain and darkness. So, I didnt take my camera gear out at all. Now the Spring is over here, but then we have this thing called Covid-19. Not saying that it has any reason for not updating the blog, but it has kinda taken its shadow for everything and every one- even if me and my wife, and all our families have been healthy. So its been somewhat dull and lazy period the past 6 months. And now things are getting busy at work, so probably it affects negative on photography again 😉

But at least some shots i managed to take of Horned Grebe, or Slavonian Grebe past weekend. Actually I also invested something else than Canon gear, and bought myself a mountain/trail bike. I have been longing a bike a few years already, but only now I got the real eagerness for it. So I walked in the local bike shop, and rode away with Trek X Caliber 8 MTB. My buttock didnt feel it was a great or even good idea, but after a few strolls it is getting better. Must say that i had basically 30 years gap since my last bike ride, things have changed. As a kid back then, bikes were different and one didnt worry too much out on the ride – not the traffic nor stumbling . Now I notice being pretty careful rider and even worrying not the fall. But boy its fun! Being out in the nature trails and being able to move a bit further than by foot from home. Unfortunately Giusto is not able to follow a bike no longer, as he is getting old, too. But he keeps an eye in the home garden while I’m out on the trails.

One morning I got up before sun rise to rode to bird pond some 30 min from home. It was my first visit ever there, and to my pleasant surprise I found these smallish but pretty water birds: horned grebes also called Slavonian grebe.
So now I am trying to combine a bit these hobbies, taking camera back bag out on a ride.
